Training built for real shoot days
spotquelki began as a set of notes passed between crews on live shoots across the UK. Today it's a full training resource covering stage lighting, camera framing, interview area setup and sound checks — the practical craft behind polished media coverage.
Our story
We started spotquelki after seeing the same mistakes repeat on set: lights rigged without a plan, interviews shot with mismatched eye-lines, sound checks skipped until it was too late. Rather than write another equipment manual, we built a training resource that walks crews through the decisions that actually matter on the day.
Every module is led by working lighting directors, camera operators and sound engineers, and every checklist has been tested on real productions — from single-camera interviews to multi-day location shoots.
What guides our training
Precision
Every setup follows a repeatable checklist, so nothing is left to guesswork.
Reliability
Crews trained by spotquelki can be trusted to deliver the same result every time.
Craft
We treat lighting, framing and sound as skills worth mastering, not shortcuts.
Client-first
Coverage exists to serve the story and the client, not the other way round.
